Missions Trip Idea- Prayer Walk

One of the best Mission Trip add ons you can do on your Southern West Virginia Missions Trip is a Prayer Walk (or two!). Prayerwalking brings a hyper focus to your prayer efforts. It allows you to not only pray for specific neighborhoods, but specific families and people.

As you walk a neighborhood, remember you are not here to draw attention to yourself. You are here to seek God’s face on behalf of the neighborhood you are specifically in. Perhaps this is a neighborhood your Missions Team will be ministering to later in the week. Perhaps this is a neighborhood you will be canvassing. Perhaps this is a just a neighborhood near First Southern Baptist Church of Grandview. Regardless of the neighborhood, Prayerwalking is a powerful tool.

When you walk the neighborhood, pause at each house. Pray specifically for that family. Pray that if they do not know Christ as their personal Lord and Savior that God would use your Missions Team and/or First Southern Baptist Church of Grandview to share the Gospel message with them. Pray that if there are any family issues, such as divorce, separation, or fighting, that God would heal their home and bring His peace to that family. Stop at playgrounds, mailbox areas, pools, or other populated places of the neighborhood to pray for those who will be playing and interacting there.

Prayerwalking can be an outreach tool as well. After you have prayed for a home, knock on the door and ask how we can be in prayer for them. Ask if it is ok to share the prayer request with the church. People appreciate being prayed for. This is a meaninful outreach to the community.
