The North American Mission Board held their annual Send North America Conference August 3rd and 4th. This was a sold out event on being sold our for Christ. The theme for this year was “Every Life on Mission Matters”. Every life being lived for Christ is on Mission. The question becomes, are we being intentional with this mission? Are we living each day intentionally? Aware of Christ’s leading in our life? The heart of this gathering was to see a movement of people from within the church living out the mission of God in their everyday lives.
While I would love to see First Southern Baptist Church of Grandview have a group attend the 2016 Send Conference, we do not need to attend a conference to start living our lifes on mission! You see, “this mission is not for a select few; it is for business people, soccer moms, grandmothers, students, lawyers, pastors, baristas, contractors – it is for the entirety of the church. The movement of God’s mission sweeps across everyday, ordinary lives” (Send). Jesus called all of His disciples to “take up their cross daily and follow Me” (Luke 9:23). This not only involves spending time with Christ daily, but intentionally submiting to Him and following Him. This is a constant process.
If this is something that you want for your life, pray “Lord, I lay day my own agenda. My own priorities. Show me your priorities. Lead me throughout the day so that I can be on mission for You. Help me to be in the moment and aware of those around me. Help me to live intentionally for You today.”
