Servant Evangelism is a great add in to any Southern West Virginia Missions Trip. One easy and effective act of Servant Evangelism is offering a Free Car Wash. This is a fantastic way to reach out to the surrounding community. Everyone needs their car washed and everyone loves free!
Free Car Washes are a great conversation starter. People cannot believe it is really free. “Why would you do a free carwash?” “What do you get out of it?” “What’s the catch?” These are common questions that come up during a completely and totally free car wash. The answer? “This is an act of service. I want to serve others as Christ serves us.” Just like any other part of a Missions Trip with First Southern Baptist Church of Grandview, the Gospel is at the heart of the Free Car Wash. Be ready to share the Gospel with those who may ask you.
How do you prepare for a Free Car Wash? The day or night before the event, during your Mission Team’s preparation time, your Team can pick up the following materials: 3-4 posters, permanent markers, sponges and buckets, car friendly soap, tire brushes, wax, and rags for waxing. Take some time to create the posters the night before during your preparation time. Write “Free Car Wash”, “No Donations”, “No Kidding”, on the posters.
The day of your Mission Team’s Free Car Wash event, have 3-4 of your team members by the road holding up the Free Car Wash signs. Be sure to have enough team members for 1-2 cars at a time and a few extra team members to talk with the drivers and passengers. Remember, always be ready to share your faith!
