Here in Southern West Virginia it seems as though our children and youth are going back to school earlier and earlier. This makes it easy to add a Back to School Party to your late Summer Missions Trip! Why conduct a Back to School Party? It is an easy way for us to love on and give back to the community while sharing Christ’s love with families from our area.
Learn About the School District
Not every school here in Southern West Virginia has the same needs. We will partner with you in selecting a district or a smaller region to throw a Back to School Party for. Each area needs something different. Ghent does not have the same needs as Grandview, for example, yet they are only 15 minutes apart!
Plan Your Attractions
Just like any block party, a back to school party needs to have attractions. Why would you want to attend a back to school party? Is there something to entertain children, youth, and adults? What are you favorite things you have done at a block party or state fair? What about your children?
Plan the Food
Let’s face it, food is a must for a successful back to school party! Ensure that you have more than enough and different options to choose from. Decide ahead of time if your Missions Team will prepare the food or if you will have it catered. Taking on an event like this requires plenty of planning, preparation, and experience. Keep this in mind when evaluating whether or not preparing the food yourselves is an option.
