Praying for Southern West Virginia

Everyone can’t go on a Missions Trip to Southern West Virginia, but everyone can pray. That is why we are asking for prayer partners for the rest of 2015 and for 2016.

West Virginia, like many states in Appalachia, is a mix of wealth and poverty. There are areas that are prosperous and areas that are struggling. Remember, whatever you do for the least of these, you do for Him (Matt. 25:40). This includes prayer! Praying for those who are in need is just as important as physically serving those who are in need.

Here is a list of prayer requests for Southern West Virginia:

1- Pray for those struggling with drug addiction and their families.

Unfortunately, West Virginia now leads the nation in fatal drug overdoses.

2- Pray for those who are struggling with hunger.

1 in 6 people in Southern West Virginia are hungry. 1 in 3 children in Southern West Virginia are hungry.

3- Pray for Spiritual Revival in Southern West Virginia.

Pray specifically for Grandview, the Shady District, and all of Southern West Virginia. Pray for revival to start in individual’s personal lives and to spread throughout the nation.

4- Pray for Physical Needs.

Poverty is a very real part of Southern West Virginia. 1 in 3 children live in families who are below the national poverty level. Many families in Southern West Virginia are only one emergency away from falling below the poverty level. Pray that good jobs are created and found. Pray for family stability. Pray for the unmet physical needs of our poor and struggling families in Southern West Virginia.

5- Pray for Single Parent or Seperated Families

Just like many areas in the United States, Southern West Virginia has its share of divorce. Pray for those who are going through a divorce or who are seperated. Pray for those who may be raising children on their own. Pray for those who are in a blended family situation. Pray for healing within Southern West Virginia families.

6- Pray for future Missions Teams

Pray for those who will come and help us as we reach out to families in need and share the gospel. Pray for their safety, their individual spirtual life, as well as the impact they will have here in Southern West Virginia.

Thank you for praying for these needs with us!
“If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land” (2 Chron. 7:14)
