Considering what to do on your Missions Trip? An Evangelistic Block Party is a must do on your Southern West Virginia Missions Trip. What is an Evangelistic Block Party? It is an evangelistic event put together by the North American Mission Board to serve the community and share the gospel. The Missions Team would partner with First Southern Baptist Church of Grandview to select a neighborhood in the area, provide a meal, and a program. In some areas, clothing and hygiene items will be distributed.
An Evangelical Block Party allows your Missions Team to reach people where they are at. Having the event outside allows us to cloth, feed, teach, serve, and evangelize much in the same manner that Christ did when he fed the 5,000 (Matt. 14:13-21). The atmostphere of these events are intimate, intentionally evangelistic, informal, interesting, and imaginative. No two Evangelical Block Parties put on by Missions Trips in North America are alike.
When planning the Evangelical Block Party portion of your Missions Trip, your Missions Team will work closely with our church to select a location (or multiple locations if necessary) for the event(s). Our church will have volunteers who will attend and help your group staff the event. We want this to be an extension of our ministry in the area! Your Missions Team will select a program that is a good fit for the location. If necessary, your Missons Team may drive for items ahead of time with your church as you prepare for the Missions Trip. Your team will select and provide a meal that can be prepared ahead of time at the church. We will make special accomodations for larger meals or multiple events.
As your Missions Team prepares for the Evangelical Block Party, the most important preparation is that of prayer. Pray for your Missions Trip early and often. Pray for God’s guidance in planning and preparing for your Missions Trip. Pray for the people you will be serving. Pray that God will use your team to expand his Kingdom. Pray that God will continue to work through our church in lives of the people who you reach on your Mission Trip.
